Bankruptcy: Write Your Congresscritters

Thanks to The People's Email Network, we now have a tool up to easily allow you to write your Congresscritters from Politology.

Visit our Write Your Congresscritters page to send emails. You will type in your address and your message, and the message about the bankruptcy bill will automatically go to your own Senators and your own Representative.

In addition, PEN will be giving updates to members of the House Judiciary Committee about the level of opposition to this bill.

Note - it's viral. You can include email addresses to contacts that you want to enlist, and they will be sent information.

Great work. Two technical issues:

1. When using the Write Your Congresscritters page, there is no confirmation message letting you know that the message has been properly sumbitted - just a blank screen.

2. Your blog states that users can use their TypeKey identity to write comments, but when I tried to do so I received this message: "The site you're trying to comment on has not signed up for this feature. Please inform the site owner."

Keep up the good work!

We should write our own particular congresscritters, but we should also write/call anyone who's in either of the two House committees where the bill is currently sitting:

Here are the committee rosters, with contact links.(I decided not to risk blowing up TypeKey again, so I put the list on my blog.)

It'll be easier to keep this thing bottled up in committee, than to try and stop it once it hits the House floor.
